Doug came to JEH from the Nielsen Company where he was the publisher of K+BB magazine and kbbonline.com. K+BB is an industry-leading residential design B2B publication and website. Prior to working for Nielsen, Doug spent 17 years with NewBay Media where he was Vice President of the Video Division, and published a portfolio of magazines and websites including Creative Planet, 2-Pop, Videography, DV, Government Video and Television Broadcast. Doug began his career with NewBay in the accounting department back when the company was known as Miller Freeman (later as CMP Media), and worked his way through the company in a number of roles, including as Business Manager for Guitar Player magazine and its sister publications. Doug also spent five years in the music industry, working for the record label Hearts of Space. He studied music at California State University Northridge, and eventually spent a number of years rocking out as lead singer of San Francisco band The Weeds. |
